Moab, Utah is known for its unforgettable scenery, state and national parks, and outdoor activities that will get your blood pumping. One outdoor activity that will get your blood pumping is a Moab zipline adventure. Read on to find out why.

When ziplining in Moab, you not only travel down 6 zip lines during the adventure but you also take an UTV ride, hike, cross a suspension bridge, and you get to see some of the most stunning views. It will be something you won’t soon forget.

In this blog post, I will share what you can expect on this unforgettable adventure of ziplining in Moab. .

A Little About My Story

When I retired from teaching, we went on a 16 day adventure to the Southwest as a family. The thing I was looking forward to the most was ziplining in Moab.

Unfortunately, they had an employee quit the day before we were to do it. So, we weren’t able to go. Talk about a huge bummer.

Fast forward two years. My friend, Bob Earle, retired and we went on a trip out west for 15 days. We planned on going to Moab and we were able to go ziplining. Can you say redemption?

Raven’s Rim

There is only one company that does ziplining in Moab and that is Raven’s Rim Adventure Tours

The company does other things besides ziplining. You can do a climbing adventure, river rafting, and combo tours with jet boats and planes.

Location

They are located at 998 N. Main Street, Moab, Utah. It is on the right hand side of the road at the edge of town going towards Arches National Park.

There is a sign that you can see from the road and look for the dinosaur that they have that is close to the sign.

Cost

Raven’s Rim offers two different types of zipline adventures. The first one takes place during the day. The other one is a sunset zipline tour.

There are different prices for each of them. You can check their website to see the most current prices.

Helpful Tips

  • It is easy to make a reservation online. You can also call and make a reservation over the phone. There is a $10 nonrefundable deposit when you make the reservation. The balance is due two days before doing the zipline.
  • They don’t supply any water so you will want to make sure to take some with you.
  • Don’t forget your camera or phone. There is plenty of beautiful scenery to take pictures of along with friends and family.
  • You will want to have a good pair of tennis shoes or hiking shoes to hike from line to line.
  • It is good to have some sunscreen on and some lip balm if your lips get chapped easily.

Highlights

  • Six exhilarating zip lines
  • 4 x 4 UTV off roading
  • 100 foot suspension bridge
  • Guided tour along Moab red rock fins

UTV Ride

Once you have the safety meeting with the guides at the Main Street office, you will load up in 4 x 4 UTVs. You take an adventurous 1,000 foot climb in the UTVs to get to the first zipline. The ride takes around 10 minutes.

The Course

The course is located on 350 acres of the high desert on private land along the Sand Flats Recreation area. The 6 zipline course is the longest land to land zipline in America.

After the first 2 ziplines, you will cross a 100 foot suspension bridge. Make sure to hang on because people like to bounce the bridge as they go across.

All of the ziplines are great but the two best ones are the Holy Zip and Home Run. These are the 4th and 6th ziplines. Both of them are 1,300 feet long and you can reach speeds between 30 and 40 mph.

Hiking

There is a total of ½ mile of hiking between all of the ziplines. I don’t think that was bad at all. The steepest incline when hiking was getting to the first zipline.

Total Time

The total time of the zipline adventure is around 2.5 hours long. The one that we did lasted a little less than that.

Ratings

Here are a few different sites with the ratings that they have for Raven’s Rim Zipline.

What You Will See

Besides the course being a whole lot of fun, the beautiful scenery that you will see just adds to the whole experience.

There is a picturesque view of the red rocks of the high desert that are all around you. You can also see the La Sal Mountain Range rising up 12,721 feet in the distance.

You also see Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse Point State Park and down into the town of Moab.

My Thoughts

This was only the second time that I have ever ziplined. So, I am not an aficionado of ziplines. Nonetheless, my expectations for this adventure were super high.

I was afraid that they wouldn’t be met but fortunately, I was wrong. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. It was a total blast.

All of the different parts of the experience were great. There was the UTV ride, the ziplines, suspension bridge, the wonderful guides we had and the beautiful scenery of God’s creation that was all around.

I give the zipline experience a 10 out of 10. Bob, who has ziplined numerous places around the world, rated this zipline experience the best one he has ever done. So, if you don’t believe me then take his word for it.
