How to Get the Best Flight Deals Sent to Your Inbox

Do you love to travel but you don’t especially like spending hours on a computer trying to find deals on flights? Fortunately, there are sites that not only find the cheap flights for you but they also send the cheap flight deals to your inbox. All you need to do is decide if you want to go on the flight or not.

The following are 6 of the best sites that do all the heavy lifting for you. They find cheap flights so that you can not only travel more but you don’t have to break the bank to do it.

Somethings to Keep in Mind

  • Most of these sites on this list have a free version as well as a paid version(s) when using them. As you would expect, the paid version(s) of the sites will give you more features.
  • These sites are best suited for people who don’t have a specific destination in mind.
  • You will want to look at the itinerary for the deals that are offered closely since some of the itineraries will have multiple stops, extended layovers and travel times.

Going

Going was formerly known as Scott’s Cheap Flights and is probably the most popular one of these sites on this list. The site has 3 tiers to choose from which include: free, premium, and elite.

The free tier gives you domestic economy deals. The premium level gives you domestic and international economy deals. The elite level gives you domestic and international deals on economy, economy plus, business and first class seats. The most popular level is the premium level and if you are someone who doesn’t fly that often the free version should work just fine.

If you are into miles and points, Going will send you flight deals with the premium and elite levels for using points. They will even tell you how to book the flight if you are an elite member.

Expert Flyer

Expert Flyer allows you to search for points/miles tickets as well as paid tickets. With the service, you can find airline schedules, seat maps, flight statuses, and award availability.

There are three different levels to choose from with Expert Flyer. The Free version allows you to set up one free alert at a time. The Basic version allows you to set up 4 alerts at a time with 250 queries a month. The Premium level allows you unlimited queries, 200 seat alerts, 200 flight availability alerts, and flexible search options.

Jack’s Flight Club

All you need to do to get started with Jack’s Flight Club is give them your email address. They will send you deals that they find to your inbox. The deals that they send you are in real time.

There is a free and paid version. With the free version, you will receive 1-2 deals sent to your inbox each week. You will receive 7-10 deals per week with the paid subscription. You can pay quarterly, semiannually or annually.

One of the downsides to Jack’s Flight Club is the fact that they only send out deals from 16 different airports in the states. They are adding more over time.

Thrifty Traveler

Thrifty Traveler sends deals to people that depart from over 200 airports in the U.S. and Canada. They search for deals 24/7 and will send them out as soon as they find them. Thrifty Traveler stays away from budget airlines. You designate what your home airport(s) are and they will send you deals that depart from the ones you pick.

Thrifty Traveler has a free and paid version. The free version can fit a person’s needs who doesn’t travel that often. You get 1-2 flight deals sent to your inbox each week. They also allow you to pick a number of home airports to increase the chances of finding a good deal.

The Premium membership allows you to sign up for multiple home airports, They will send you domestic and international deals. You will also get economy, business, and first class deals. If you are into miles and points, they will even send you alerts for them. If a mistake fare is found, they will text the alert to your phone.

Airfare Watchdog

Airfare Watchdog is a little different than the other sites on this list since they only have a free version. The site searches over 20,000 routes looking for the best deals. Airfare Watchdog has a number of different features, such as tracking a flight, weekend deals, and search for deals from a city or to a city to name a few of the different things that you can do.

There are unlimited flights that you can have them track for you. They will track a flight for you once you give them your email address. You can set up how often you want to be alerted. You can even exclude airlines that you don’t want to fly. Once you have alerts set up, it is easy to manage them by using “My Alerts” at the top of the page.

Secret Flying

Secret Flying is another site that doesn’t have a paid option so it is totally free to use. That means that you get all of the features and benefits that come with the site including mistake fares.

After you sign up, you can pick airports that you want to fly out of for your flights. They have worldwide access so that you can even include airports overseas. You will then get all of the best deals from the airports that you selected sent to your inbox.

In the emails that you receive, they also give you a link that takes you to the booking site so that you can book the flight.

Final Thoughts

I personally like to have as many tools at my disposal when it comes to traveling. The above mentioned sites may not be a fit for everyone but they can be part of people’s tools when it comes to trying to book cheap flights.

If you don’t know if any of the sites are a good fit for you, you can always try a free version of any of the sites to see what you think.
